Air Quality and Health
Clean air is important for the health and wellbeing of our community. To help make air quality information more visible and accessible, the Friendship Centre has installed a Cloud Light in our lobby.
Our Cloud Light changes colour to reflect the Air Quality Health Index (AQHI), a 1-10 colour scale that shows how air quality may affect your health. It gives a clear, real-time signal to help community members make everyday choices, like going for a walk, caring for Elders, or planning outdoor activities with children.
By bringing this information into the Centre, we honour the connection between environment, health, and community.
Thank you to our partners West Central Airshed Society (WCAS). You can learn about air quality and your health by visiting wcas.ca.
